Custom Shop Series-Supreme 16
This is TopHat's latest endeavor to produce the most outstanding, classically based amp that will make records for the ages. This amp really strives to reach tonal Nirvana. It was hard to find room for improvement on our best selling amp -- the Club Royal, which has been rated the best in the 2-EL84 class of amps. There are two things that have come onto the market in the last year or so that allow higher levels of correct breathing tone to occur. One is the EZ81 rectifier tube. This is the original rectifier used by 18-watt Marshall's and the Vox AC15 (which our Supreme Sixteen is based on) amps. This tube has been out of production for decades, yet very necessary to feed a 2-EL84 amp the right amount of current. The other item is the Celestion Blue Alnico. It is my personal contention, not verified officially by Celestion, that the Blue Alnico has been upgraded with the "glues, parts and pieces" used on the new Heritage Series speakers, also made with the "Blue", in England. This speaker has come along way from where it has been the last 10+ years. It now allows all the great things to happen, like the originals. THIS IS A GREAT BREAK THROUGH! When we went to drawing board to design this masterpiece, we started with what we believe is the best 2-EL84 platform of all time -- the early 60's AC15. Part of the magic of this design, is the far less common use of a large choke. Simply put, this coil affects the way the amp compresses and breathes. It causes a feel unlike any other. It is very hands and ear friendly. It also matches up with the Aluminum chassis and new found papery clarity of the Blue Alnico. The Aluminum chassis has welded corners and been fully powder coated and silk-screened on the outside, utilizing no faceplates. The head and speaker cabinets are finger-joined 15mm Baltic Birch plywood, covered in two-tone vinyl with an Art Deco inlaid piping design surrounding the new style round, lit up logo.
An absolutely beautifully designed housing for our new chassis and Celestion Alnico speakers that are standard in the 1x12" cabinet and comes mixed with an Heritage G12H in the 2x12" version.

Custom Shop Series - Vanderbilt
The Vanderbilt has the same features, looks, size and styling as the Supreme 16 (ss). It's main difference is the output section uses 2-6L6's running cathode biased with no negative feedback loop and has a GZ34 rectifier tube. It's rated at 33 watts and is designed to be used with either 2-Celestion Blue Alnico's or one mixed with a Heritage G12H. It has fat, harmonically rich overtones mixed with a perfect amount of Compression and saturation. It retains the simple channel 1 with the unique EF86 preamp tube, like the SS. The full EQ channel preamp design is derived from our Super Deluxe, though the output section is biased specifically for the 6L6, unlike the Super's cooler bias that allows the use of EL34's.
This really allows for a fuller, richer and warmer sound. The power and output are also chosen to run with the Blue Alnico speakers, which couldn't handle a typical 45-50 watt arrangement. It's output is similar to an AC30 and really shines with the Alnicos. This is a fairly unique combination in the market place, the 6L6's in Class A with the Blue Alnicos. We've already had great feedback on this new model -- it really has a nice power levels for today's Club levels and musical styles.
It truly incorporates Vox, Fender and Marshall characteristics, so it is very versatile and widely capable -- fulfilling a wide range of a guitarists needs. It list at $2349 for the head. Model number CS-V33.

____________________________________________________________ AMBASSADOR
TopHat Ambassador amplifiers are available in either the deluxe 2x12" Combo version or the "piggy back" (head type) version with choice of 2x12", 4x12" or 4x10" SD-Series extension cabinets.
The Ambassador Series features one-channel with one high and one low input. This single channel features the cherished 60's reverb circuit, with a special EQ design (separates the mid from the treble and bass and allows a vast increase in mid range content), a master volume and both dwell and mix controls, for the reverb section. The dwell and mix controls allow the player to control signal sent, as well as signal returned from the reverb circuit. This classic pre-amp, together with the warmth and sweetness of it's output section, produces the sweetest classic tone and the fullest sounding reverb available. TopHat has recently added two switches to the front panel features.
The first switch is a regular Bright switch. This accentuates the high frequencies, especially at lower volume control levels. The effect diminishes as the volume control is turned up.
The second switch labeled "Clean-Fat", with Fat being the normal mode and the Clean mode providing a lower gain (cleaner) / higher head room, alternative drive arrangement.
Ambassador 35 The Ambassador A-35's unique output section features four 6V6 power tubes running in a Classic Class A circuit. This amp will distort more easily than the 50 and 100 watt versions. The Class A overtones provide a "British" type overdrive when pushed hard. This model wants to rock and roll at higher gain settings yet provides enough clean headroom for smaller clubs.
Ambassador 50 The NEW Ambassador A-50 is the latest of the two new models recently added to TopHat's Flagship Series of amplifiers. It's output section utilizes a pair of 6L6's that run in Class A/B with a traditional negative feedback loop. This produces roughly 50 watts and provides both cleaner power and additional headroom. This amp will fill the needs of players in small and medium clubs, providing the additional clarity necessary for Jazz/Country etc...
Ambassador 100 The NEW Ambassador A-100 is the Dave Hidalgo ( Los Lobos, Latin Playboys, Houndog ) inspired model. This amp produces roughly 100 watts with four 6L6's running in Class A/B as above. This model is designed for duty in the back line of large hall performances. This amp is ideal for pedal users with multi-faceted tonal requirements.
The TopHat Ambassador is available in either the deluxe 2x12" Combo version or the "piggy back" (head type) version with choice of 2x12", 4x12" or 4x10" Special Design Speaker Cabinets.
Standard features include:
*Cut (acts as Presence on 50 and 100 watt models) *Master volume *Foot switch (for the reverb) *Impedance selector (4,8 & 16) *Adjustable line out *Optional passive effects loop ($50.00 option).

___________________________________________________________ EMPLEXADOR
The TopHat Emplexador is so versatile, it's perfect for the Marshall enthusiast who loves everything that they ever made, but can't decide which model to own. Available with your choice of optional 2x12" or 4x12" SD-Series extension cabinets.
The Emplexador E-50 & E-100 feature a traditional hi/lo input with selectable voicing between "Vintage" and "Modern". The first mode, labeled "Vintage", is based on a 1968 "Plexi" with a few twists thrown in for added versatility! TopHat added the ability to engage/disengage the "Bright Boost" bypass cap of a Classic '72 era amp as well as a switch to provide the fatter front end of a JTM 45. The master volume control also provides greater drive control in both modes. The second voicing, labeled "Modern", is designed to attain the best overdrive sound available with tons of gain and sustain while still offering some ability to have the amp clean up when your guitar is turned down. The amp also features:
*Gain *Master volume *Treble *Midrange *Bass and Presence controls *Rear panel features: *Variable line out *Impedance selector (4,8,16 ohms) *Optional passive effects loop
Top Hat recently added two switches to the front panel features.
The first switch labeled "Normal-Boost" (replaces the pull-boost function on the earlier models) with the boost mode providing additional gain in the higher frequencies. This provides the '69-'72 era bright/crunchy response. (Remember the effect is diminished as the gain knob is turned up) The Normal mode allows the amp to be full and warm at lower gain knob settings.
The second switch labeled "Treble-Fat" allows the player to choose between the gain structure of a fat JTM 45 (early/mid 60's) and a more treble-y JMP 50 (later 60's).
Together with all these tonal options a player can really dial-in almost any classic "British Tone" from clean and bright to hot and overdriven.
The TopHat Emplexador is so versatile, it's perfect for the Vintage Marshall enthusiast who loves everything that they used to make, but can't decide which model to buy. And, for the live performer or studio player who needs to be able to get those classic "Plexi" sounds and a modern overdrive all in one amplifier. The Emplexador has it all! Available in either 50(TH-E50) or 100(TH-E100) watts, these babies scream!
